Over the summer, we worked with a customer named Michael L. in Livermore, who has since left a very detailed review of his experience with our replacement window company on Yelp. Michael starts by saying that he contacted five different replacement window companies in the Bay Area and that Custom Exchange came back with a great price on one of his preferred brands of replacement windows, Simonton. He was also impressed with our company’s communication and liked the fact that we are a local business.
Michael, like many of our other customers, also appreciated our direct approach to pricing. We offered him a fair price on high-quality replacement windows from the start. He said another company had quoted him a much higher price, but then offered a discount if he agreed to write a positive review for the company.
With regards to the installation process, Michael called it “efficient.” He was impressed that the two Custom Exchange installers were able to complete the job in just two days. He said, “Given it’s the middle of a pandemic, I was pleased to see that Custom Exchange uses a small team to do the installation—some of the other vendors I talked to said it would take upwards of five installers to do the same amount of work in the same amount of time.”
We installed a combination of Simonton Madeira and Simonton DaylightMax windows in Michael’s house, and just a short while after they were installed, they were really put to the test. There was a day when it was 105 degrees during the day, with rain in the evening. Michael reports, “…without the AC on and temperatures ranging around ~105F, the house stayed in the 80s. It was on track to enter the 90s before I turned on the AC in the evening, but the point is that prior to the installation, I was hitting 80s internally on high 80F days. On a day where it went from 90 to 105 between 11AM and 5PM in the past, I would have the AC on the entire time. Although my house isn’t overly efficient, these windows are making a noticeable difference. After the rains, I went through and checked the windows—I wasn’t seeing water pull up in the window tracks anymore like I did with my prior setup. No leaks or other issues from what I can tell.”
Finally, Michael talks about the sound suppression of the windows. (We told you it was a very detailed review). Living near Interstate 580, Michael is used to hearing a good amount of freeway noise inside his home, but now, he says, “…it’s definitely a lot quieter. The overall ambient sounds of the freeway are still present, but they’re softer and quieter.”
The best part of Michael’s review is that he says, “The whole thing was stress free.” Having new windows installed in your home shouldn’t be a stressful experience.
