Milgard is a popular brand of replacement windows. So popular, in fact, that we often get asked about Milgard windows by name at our replacement window dealership. When potential customers ask about them, we have to tell them that we have chosen not to sell Milgard products, even though we could probably sell a lot of them if we did.
Why Are Milgard Windows So Popular?
Milgard has become a household name largely because you can find their windows in so many places. Their windows were installed in new builds all across the Bay Area, so many people already have them in their homes or know someone who does. In addition, they can be found on the shelves of many building supply and home improvement stores in Pleasanton and throughout the Bay Area.
When a brand becomes a household name, people assume a certain level of quality comes along with it. However, this isn’t always the case. Milgard windows should be considered a solid entry-level option when it comes to replacement windows and doors. They aren’t bad, but they certainly aren’t the best replacement windows out there. If you’re looking to upgrade from old, single-pane windows, dual-pane Milgard windows will be a definite improvement, but there are better options available at a similar price point.
Better Options for Replacement Windows in Pleasanton
This wouldn’t be a very helpful post if we just told you that Milgard wasn’t the best option for replacement windows. We also want to offer you some alternatives.
At Custom Exchange, we’ve researched many, many brands of replacement widows (including Milgard) in order to choose which ones to offer to our customers. We looked for a good balance between quality and price. We want to sell windows that are energy efficient and durable, but still affordable for most Pleasanton homeowners.
At our replacement window company, we are currently offering windows made by Simonton and Monte Verde. Both of these replacement window brands are extremely well made by reputable manufacturers who stand behind their products. Simonton regularly receives top honors from reviewers of consumer products and is a great choice for any Pleasanton home. Monte Verde is a smaller, regional manufacturer of replacement windows. Their products are very well suited for the Bay Area climate.
Another reason we have chosen to offer products by these two manufacturers is because they truly stand behind their products. Both manufacturers offer great product warranties, and more importantly, they actually honor those warranties. With other manufacturers, it can be a struggle to get them to complete any repairs that should be covered by their warranties, but in our experience with both Simonton and Monte Verde, this hasn’t been an issue.
We feel very strongly about only selling windows that we can recommend to our customers without hesitation. Simonton and Monte Verde windows both fall into that category.
